1) High ring stiffness
It is difficult for ordinary plastic wall wound pipes for buried drainage to exceed SN 8 in maximum ring stiffness, but pipes with new structures can easily reach SN8, SN12.5 and SN16, or even higher. On the other hand, this kind of steel-plastic composite pipe with steel pipe as the middle layer and inner and outer layers of polyethylene plastic is also very good in corrosion resistance. Therefore, this composite anti-corrosion pipe can be used in various harsh environments. For example, in some coastal areas, due to the corrosive substances in the soil, if concrete pipes are used: the working life will be very short, and it is desirable to use corrosion-resistant plastic buried drainage pipes. However, in the past, because there was no product with high ring stiffness, it could not meet the design requirements, and now metal reinforced winding structure walls can be used.

Compared with other plastic pipes of the same diameter and ring stiffness, the steel belt reinforced polyethylene (PE) spiral corrugated pipe can save nearly half of the material consumption. The polyethylene of the steel tape winding pipe only accounts for 2/3 of the overall weight of the composite pipe; in the situation of rising plastic prices, this is a very good solution to reduce the material cost. The ring stiffness achieved by pressing the thin steel strip into the steel rib far exceeds the effect produced by the very thick polyethylene structural layer. The required ring stiffness can be easily achieved by appropriately designing the thickness and height of the steel rib. The function of polyethylene in the structural wall pipe is corrosion resistance and wear resistance, so in the metal reinforced winding structural wall pipe, the steel rib material is not much, and the polyethylene material does not need much.
